A combination of sourcing the fastest antennas available and a choice of multiple mobile operators has given us the edge over even the leading competitors where speeds achieved are concerned. We have trialled several of these during our testing phase and are now at a point of being able to offer this to the general public and businesses alike.

What is 4G/5G Rural Broadband good for?

In short, our 4G/5G service is a superb choice for most home broadband usage scenarios including but not limited to the following.

Video Streaming

The speeds obtained vary from place to place but are generally far in excess of what is available through the phone lines in areas that aren’t covered by our wireless service. With this you are more than able to stream from the popular video services such as Netflix and the BBC.

Online Gaming

We’ve had good reports from our test customers regarding the gaming capacity of our 4G/5G service. Whilst the latency can be a little higher than with our wireless service or fibre, we’re told that this doesn’t have a negative impact on the overall experience.

Video Conferencing/VOIP

With most of the country working from home in this day and age, it’s highly important that video conferencing runs as smoothly as possible. With the bandwidth provided by our 4G/5G service we’re more than confident that you’ll have no issues related to the connection coming into your property via one of our specialised antennas.

What are the downsides to 4G/5G Rural Broadband?

CCTV/Alarm Systems

With 4G/5G broadband you don’t have a traditional connection to the internet as it runs through something called Carrier Grade NAT (cgnat for short). Owing to this it is not possible to use port forwarding which is required by most CCTV systems for their mobile apps. We are currently developing a bespoke solution to bolt on to a 4G/5G connection to negate this issue however.

Mobile Mast Operators

As our 4G/5G solution runs off of the mobile networks, we don’t have direct control over how these are run or fault diagnosis in the event of an outage like we do with our wireless network. We do have a direct line to the operators however, in the event of a fault being reported to ourselves, we would relay the information to the mobile operator in question to get the fault repaired as soon as possible.

No Truly Unlimited Services

At present, whilst unlimited data contracts are advertised, the small print always outlines a fair usage policy. This usually involves a very high monthly data cap of around 1tb (1024 gigabytes) which is more than enough for any regular household to not notice. We don’t like to hide these facts as we like to be as fair and honest as possible with any of our services.

Upon our initial visit we will perform a survey to assess the highest available speeds from all 4 networks. Once we’ve ascertained what is available we will present you with the options and let you decide, you’re under no obligation to take any of them if you aren’t satisfied with the outcome of the survey.
